gessov terms of use
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms explain how gessov is licensed and sold. They add to Apple’s standard licence, and nothing in them takes away the rights you have under consumer law.
The licence
gessov is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
That agreement is between you and Qianli Wang, the developer of gessov. What follows adds to it and explains how gessov is sold.
What is free
gessov is free to download. Without paying, you get a shared allowance of new words that works in any volume on the shelf.
New words, free
Everyone gets the same allowance, usable in any volume.
For each 7-day streak
Every 7 days in a row while you are on the free version adds 40 more, up to 3 times.
Reviews
Words you have learned stay free to review, for as long as you use gessov.
Words skipped because you met them in another volume, and words you star from an issue, do not use the allowance. When it runs out, your reviews carry on as usual; new words continue on Full. The daily amount is the same whether you are on the free version or on Full.
What Full adds
- Every volume on the shelf, and every volume added later, with no limit on new words.
- Your streak earns keys for issues: the first after 14 days in a row, the next after 21 more, then 28, then one every 30 days.
Full is one product. There is no free trial; the free allowance is how you try gessov. Full is not shared through Family Sharing.
Issues and keys
Issues are short collections of words around one theme. A key opens any issue you choose, and issues you opened stay open.
- Everyone starts with three keys.
- On Full, your streak earns more, as described above.
- Keys cannot be bought or sold, and they have no cash value.
How cards and rare cards work is explained in the app and on the support page.
Buying Full
Two ways to pay
- Yearly: a subscription that renews each year until you cancel.
- Lifetime: paid once. Lifetime means for as long as gessov is available on the App Store.
Price
The price is shown in the app, in your local currency, before you buy. There are no other charges.
Renewal and cancellation
A yearly subscription renews automatically at the end of each year, at the price shown when you bought it, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. If the price ever changes, Apple tells you first and asks you to agree before the new price applies.
You can cancel at any time in iOS Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Full until the end of the year you have already paid for.
When Full ends
- Words you have learned stay free to review.
- Issues you opened stay open, and keys you hold stay yours.
- New words come from whatever free allowance you had left. Days spent on Full do not add to it. New words you learn on Full also count towards the 300.
Refunds and your rights
Purchases are made through Apple, and Apple handles refunds under its own terms; you can ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer law that cannot be excluded. If gessov is faulty, you are entitled to the remedies that law provides.
The content
The definitions, example sentences, usage notes, look-ups, issues and pronunciations in gessov were written or produced for gessov and belong to Qianli Wang. A few pieces of artwork, a word list and some code come from others and are used under their own licences, listed in the app under Settings, Data & licences.
You may use gessov to learn, and you may quote a sentence or two when talking about a word. You may not copy its content out of the app to publish, sell, or train a model on it.
What gessov is not
gessov explains what words mean. Some volumes are about the law, the workplace, the mind or exams. None of them gives advice, and nothing in gessov should be relied on as advice.
Exam volumes
Each exam volume is a selection of exam vocabulary, not a complete word list for the exam, and it is not meant for last-minute cramming. gessov does not promise any score or result. gessov is not affiliated with or endorsed by any exam provider. IELTS is a trademark of the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. PTE Academic is a trademark of Pearson.
Law and rights
Legal (AU) and Know Your Rights (AU) explain words used in Australian law. They are not legal advice. The law differs between states and changes over time. For your own situation, ask Legal Aid or a community legal centre.
The mind
Mind and Mood explains what words mean. It is not psychological or medical advice.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top will be updated and the change will arrive with an app update. A change never takes away anything you have already paid for.
